Engineering Services Examination s directed every year for selection of officers for the engineering services that meet the specialized and administrative capacities in different fields of Engineering of the Government of India.

 A combined three-stage competitive examination  called the Engineering Services Examination (ESE), is conducted by the UPSC for recruitment to the Indian Engineering Services.

All appointments to the group A services are made by the president of India. Candidates have to apply IES through online.

 ESE Examination is conducted in following Engineering Streams:

  1. Civil Engineering
  2. Mechanical Engineering
  3. Electrical Engineering
  4. Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering
AGE ELIGIBILITY

AGE ELIGIBILITY: You need to be between 21 years to 30 years on the 1st August of the year of examination. For example, for IES-2011, You should be born not earlier than 2nd August,1981 and not later than 1st August,1990. Age relaxation exists as per Govt. rules.

(i) AGE Limit for GENERAL UPTO 30yrs

(ii) AGE Limit for OBC UPTO 33yrs

(III) AGE Limit for SC/ST UPTO 35yrs.

 ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY:

 A degree in Engineering from recognized university or equivalent. Final year Engineering candidates or equivalent are also eligible.

EXAM PATTERN OF IES

Engineering service Examinations is of three stages:-

Stage-I: Preliminary,

Stage-II: Mains,

Stage-III: Personality test.

Stage-I:

(Preliminary Examination) (Objective Type Papers)

Paper-I (Common for all Candidates)

General Studies and Engineering Aptitude Paper

Note:- Minimum Qualifying Marks for each paper should be at the discretion of the commission. Only those candidates qualifying at this stage to be permitted to appear for Stage-II exam

IES STATISTICS

You can discover from above ESE test measurements that near 30%-40% individuals who apply for ESE test, do not shows up for the ESE test.
